Tomboy

Dress: Gap Kids striped ruffle peplum (old, but similar here and here). Pants: Gap Kids lace trim leggings. Booties: Minnetonka double-fringe boots (on sale now!). Jacket: Gap Kids. Jewelry: Crewcuts ribbon-tied bauble necklace (last season but similar one here).
I was on a mini-hiatus from the blog to spend some quality time with the family during holiday break.  As the week winds down, I thought it was time to get back at it.  These photos were taken on just an ordinary day, while walking Mr. Buster (our dog).  Ms. T likes to hang out in this tree while he does "his business".

I just adore these suede Minnetonka booties I got her (and she loves them too).  Great for walking around.  Or climbing trees. They add the right amount of bohemian-style to the outfit and look great with jeans or skirts.  What is interesting about this outfit is that Ms. T's dress is from last year.  It's a teensy bit too short to wear as a dress but pair it with some leggings and it becomes a tunic!  It's a great way to extend your daughter's wardrobe from season to season.

I also love the balance between free spirt and preppiness in this look. Naturally, no outfit is complete without a string of pearls.  I found the necklace on clearance from Crewcuts (JCrew) this summer.  I love that store for fun and sparkly jewelry and accessories for girls (I'm currently obsessed with anything monogrammed or personalized, like this letter necklace)!

As many of you know, Ms. T is a true girly-girl at heart who only wants to wear dresses.  But every once in awhile her inner tomboy breaks out.  Do you have a tomboy or girly-girl in the family?  Tell me about it below.
